For years I was introduced with a disclaimer. Depending on who I was with it was a different story but it always had a similar theme that I was overwhelming, assertive and just overall dominant. I didn't really understand that for years until I had different reactions from people when I wore certain clothing. We all have heard the saying you have 30 seconds to make a first impression. I spent years in a female dominant sales position where I had to make the sale to women. We can be critical and judge from across the room. I struggled with the fact a lot of women were put off by me. However, when I wore clothes that had dominance to them women warmed up faster. I knew there was something to it. I slowly started to transition out my wardrobe but knowing I spent thousands of dollars on items was a hard pill to swallow. I then went in 100% and haven’t worn clothes or colors (like black and gray) for years. I believe it was the success of my sales career as my confidence in the way I looked was improved but I owned what I thought were flaws and embraced them. I then spent years awkwardly responding to private messages of where my outfit was from until I realized they did not want my exact outfit…they wanted to look as confident and happy as I did IN that picture. Then BOOM! Shakti Style was born!
